The Courage to Unbox

The courage to unbox! Are you courageous enough to unbox?  That’s the question I had to ask myself and later, answer. Hello, I’m K.D. Gates.  If you’re reading this article, you, too, have fought with or are currently struggling with stepping outside of the box.  And, for me, the fears of the unknown kept my talents, creativity, and bona fide uniqueness muted — forcing me to unbox. I bet you’re saying “me too!” And, if you are, the question you must ask yourself and answer is; am I willing to open the lid?

Let’s Unbox Together

Permission, oh, so granted to LEAVE the lid open. I found myself battling with the box in my younger years — stuck inside, yet yearning to get out. The only problem; I kept closing the lid. In other words, I was boxing myself in. And, what a tragedy that was!

Try boxing in a creative, a creator, a humble geek, a lover of depth, and all things weird, and see what you get. ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL MESS 🤣.

I learned that I was holding my creativity, desire for different, and greatness in captivity. When I swallowed that truth, I gave myself permission to unbox, to leave the lid open, to step out. And it’s been a blessing ever since.

So, if I know anything for sure, it’s that unboxing is one of life’s most significant necessities which is why encouraging you to open the lid is vital.

I can assure you that you’ll experience a strange sense of freedom, joy, and creativity once you do. A little scary? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely. But first, you must unbox.
